Emerge Community Care

Emerge Community Care Limited is a public benevolent institution, registered as a non-for-profit incorporated association.

Emerge Community Care seeks to address the needs of the community in a visible and practical way. Emerge Community Care seeks to provide the relief of poverty, sickness, suffering, distress, misfortune, destitution, helplessness or loneliness of people and to work proactively to enhance the physical, social, emotional and spiritual well-being of people in the community of South-East Queensland without discrimination due to age, sex, race, ethnicity, religion, political beliefs or marital status.

Emerge Care has been funded by the Department of Health to oversee the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (previously known as the Community Visitors Scheme or CVS). This program has now been running for over 30 years.  ACVVS provides volunteer visitors to support older people in living meaningful lives and building social connections that prevent social isolation and loneliness. These visits include going for walks, playing games and having a cuppa and a chat.

If this is something that you would like to be involved in, we love to catch up with you.
