Thank you for your interest in becoming a Congregation Member of Emerge Church. Everyone is important at Emerge Church whether a member or not, but it is good to have a core of committed people who help carry the load. We refer to these people as

‘Congregation Members’ in our Emerge Church Constitution, which you can read here: https://goo.gl/oJBQmx The Constitution also outlines the responsibilities of Congregation Members.

Emerge Church is a Pastor Led, Board Empowered Church, however “Congregation Members” are vital in how we run Emerge Church. Congregation Members have certain privileges afforded to them by our Constitution, that general attendees of Emerge don’t have, hence the application form. While we love all who call Emerge Church their church, Congregation Members are those we go to with the major decisions of the church.

Congregational Membership, as distinct from a regular Emerge Church attendee, is important because it demonstrates a willingness and commitment to partner together with this local Body of Christ called Emerge Church.

Emerge Church has a number of Regulations, which sit outside the Constitution, which you can read here: https://goo.gl/oJBQmx

These regulations give authority for Congregation Members to vote on such things as membership with other bodies, the Buying and Selling of Property, and the Appointment of a Senior Pastor.

Each year we will hold a meeting of Congregation Members where we will report on the health of Emerge Church and present the Finances of Emerge Church. It will be at this meeting we will seek the endorsement of the Congregation Members for the Board of Directors of Emerge Church.

Your Application Form will be forwarded to the Board of Emerge Church for approval.
